Royal Ontario Museum and eMuseum
See how high-resolution images from the vast collections of the Royal Ontario Museum are published online with eMuseum. Holding 13 million objects within its storied walls, the ROM is the largest museum in Canada and much of its elite galleries can be explored with eMuseum’s Map Our Collection feature, a dynamic alternative to standard browsing.

We believe that Gallery Systems provides the knowledge and support needed to best help us showcase our collection. | ||

Find over 44,000 of the ROM’s unique objects in their place of origin with Map Our Collection, an interactive map. Click any of the cultural artifacts, geological treasures, and artwork to reach their full object pages, featuring biographic details and high-resolution photographs. Or access these pages with the home page directory and the search tool.
To showcase their Natural History collection online, the ROM requested a custom taxonomy hierarchy display for these objects, with integrated data from the TMS thesaurus. Gallery Systems also performed a look and feel customization to perfectly meld the ROM’s eMuseum site with their existing web design.
