Frequently Asked Questions
Is this program available now?
ImageAXS was developed by a company called Digital Arts & Sciences that merged with Gallery Systems several years ago. At that time, the ImageAXS product line was purchased by ScanSoft, which decided to discontinue its support for ImageAXS. Efforts are underway to locate a new vendor for development and sales of ImageAXS. Although we believe it to be a useful product it is, unfortunately, not available for sale at this time.
Does ImageAXS work on Windows XP/2000 or Mac OS X?
Version 4.1 of ImageAXS for Windows had the best compatibility with Windows 2000 and XP. Essentially, it had updated versions of shared ".dll" files. As long as Microsoft does not release newer versions of those files, ImageAXS will continue to function. The Macintosh version of ImageAXS will only operate in the "Classic" mode. The option to download the update to 4.1 is available upon special request.
Is there a replacement product for ImageAXS Pro?
What options do I have as a user when it comes time to upgrade the software?
Quite a few ImageAXS clients have chosen to upgrade to EmbARK Cataloguer. Available in both Macintosh and Windows version, EmbARK Cataloguer is a robust image database with considerably more functionality for cataloguing data, searching, generating reports and labels, and creating a web site than does ImageAXS. Data catalogued in ImageAXS can be converted to EmbARK via a batch process. Special upgrade pricing from ImageAXS to EmbARK Cataloguer is available.
