Senior Java Web Developer - New York, NY
In this role, you will drive the technological direction of all future products, including the development of a new version of our Web publishing application.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years programming in Java, J2EE
- 2+ years programming using Struts, Tiles
- 3+ years Web programming experience using HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Strong experience with XSLT
- Experience with:
- Tomcat and Apache on Windows and/or Linux
- Web Services (Axis or XFire)
- JUnit testing framework
- Talent at Web and rich-client user interface design
- Strong programming skills required
- Passionate about Web technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
- Self-starter, able to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with some of the following would be a big plus:
- AJAX, Velocity, SiteMesh, FreeMarker, Facelets

Senior Visual Basic Developer - New York, NY
The Senior VB6 Developer will design and develop new features, enhance existing features, and perform maintenance and updates of our main software product and related utilities.
Qualifications:
- BA in Computer Science or the equivalent
- 5+ years Visual Basic 6 programming experience
- Keen understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
- Extensive experience writing COM OCX and DLL components
- Strong SQL Server 2000/2005 and/or Oracle 9/10/11 database experience (both a BIG PLUS)
- Ability to write complex SQL queries (sub queries, multiple outer joins, unions, etc.)
- Ability to write triggers, views, and stored procedures
- Good sense of user interface design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask
- Self-starter, able to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience with some/all of these additional skills would be a big plus:

Software Support Specialist (eMuseum) - New York, NY
The Software Support Specialist will provide primary technical support for our web-publishing product, eMuseum.
The Software Support Specialist:
- Serves as the technical contact for Gallery Systems’ clients
- Assists with the installation and customization of Gallery Systems’ web-based products
- Communicates with clients to develop specifications for customized product installation; includes defining project scope, deliverables and timeline based on client interviews
- Troubleshoots installation issues and assists with technical questions during upgrades and/or customizations of the product
- Assists in the pre-sales process by offering technical advice on product capabilities, including recommendations with other Gallery Systems products and services
- Serves as internal support for the preparation of product demonstrations
- Assists with internal quality assurance testing and documentation throughout product development phases
- Conducts product customization training
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience in a technical customer support position
- Knowledge of TMS and/or eMuseum would be beneficial
- Superior written, oral communication and presentation skills with an ability to explain complex technical information
- Excellent listening skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities
- Analytical with sound problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Customer focused; ability to resolves issues in a timely manner
- Superior Microsoft Office skills

Data Migration Specialist - New York, NY
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Data Migration Specialist is primarily responsible for the conversion of client data.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with clients to extract data from their software applications and executing data conversion scripts
- Creating users, back-up and restore databases in SQL
- Documenting source and target mapping
- Utilizing existing data conversion tools with an ability to recommend improvements and streamline processes
- Troubleshooting issues and bringing them to a satisfactory conclusion
- Performing quality assurance testing
- Creating a library of scripts
- Providing a high level of client support and meeting client expectations regarding quality of product and on-time delivery of services
Qualifications:
- BA with 2-3 years T-SQL/PL-SQL experience (Art, Museum or cultural background a plus)
- Demonstrated problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop relationships and interact effectively with clients
- Superior written and oral communication skills; able to communicate complex technical information to the project team, clients and non-technical audiences
- Technical Requirements:
- 3 years software product experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Oracle and relational databases
- Experience with data conversion tools and proficiency with DTS (Data Transformation Services)
- Experience with TMS would be very beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Access
International experience and fluency in other languages would be beneficial, but not required.
